Agreed, for once.
[ The first thing they agreed on since getting in that car, likely enough. ]
Except there is nowhere we can quite get out to.
[ He motions with his fan - and subsequently the map because he's got them in the same hand - in the direction of the building he spotted earlier. ]
Let's go that way, I think I saw a building.
no subject
Yeah sure, whatever. Lead the way.
no subject
Then come along.
[ They could get this piece of trash that used to be a car some other time. Or... never. What value does some stolen broken car have to them? If there is any other way to get away from wherever on planet earth they had ended up, it would be preferable. ]
I just hope the rain will not start fully until we are there.
[ ... but he has the bad feeling he'll be totally out of luck. ]

[Gokudera continued to follow Ryuutaro, ONLY NOW HE'S BEING A TOTAL DICK AND WALKING SLOWER.Just to see what happens. Ryuutaro, you have a terrible taste in friends.]
no subject
Ryuutaro takes another deep breath because Gokudera isn't worth to lose his cool over, clearly. That's why keeping calm is so hard. Ryuutaro smiiiiles twitchily. ]
Getting soaking wet is the last thing I need to make today even more splendid and fantastic.
[ The only thing he's allergic to are your five year old antic. Ryuutaro is not going to slow down with you, Gokudera, do whatever you want.
There are more raindrops. Great. ]
no subject
[Gokudera is very used to not having any luck to push, so he is totally content being a big bag of dicks for thing more than shits and giggles.
He just causally strolls along, hands in his pockets, taking his sweet time even though the rain is starting to come down a little harder. He looked over at the building in the distance. It looked pretty run down, but maybe that was just the distance. Not like he cared, he's spent his fair share of time living in dumps.]
no subject
[ Even though he certainly wouldn't mind growing some more - but rain won't help him with that at all. So as it starts to become more unpleasant, he just uses the map as a rain shield for his head. It helps for the moment being at least.
He was surprised to find the building being really just a single building and not even a complex of a few. What would even be out here all on its own? ]
no subject
[Gokudera looks up at the building, not even bothered that he's getting rained on. REAL MEN GET WET OKAY? He totally won't be regretting this later or anything. Nope. Not a bit.
It did seem pretty run-down, but the lights were on, and there was an old faded 'Motel' sign out front. Seems legit.
So he just mosies on in.]
no subject
Ryuutaro angrily snaps his fan in response, but refrains from discussion because there is... no reasonable argument to counter with. He's just taking it with confidence, yeah. ]
Uh... are you sure this is even still running?
[ A place as run-down as this can't possible be in business, right? ]
no subject
[Gokudera looks around the lobby. No cameras, no one at the desk...
So he leans over the counter, pops open the register, takes out a handful of twenties, closes the register, and stuffs the twenties into his wallet before ringing the bell for service.
Soon the clerk made his way out from the other room. He was tall and slender, his dark here slicked back. His face was pale and stern-looking, though he was dressed neatly. He raised his eyebrows seemingly unimpressed with the boy's appearance. He was quiet for a lingering moment before asking "Can I Help you?"
For the moment Gokudera was eyeing the guy up and down. Looked like a total prick.]
no subject
His life just boils down to constantly being in bad company.
He smiles brightly at the motel clerk. ]
Good evening! We would like to stay the night. Do you have any free rooms for us?
no subject
The clerk handed over the key and gave Gokudera a look and added on "I trust there will be no trouble. We like to maintain a quiet, peaceful atmosphere here."
And of course Gokudera picks up on who that comment was directed at right away, and went right on ahead to prove the statement true.]
What the fuck is that supposed to mean?
[That may be your cue to pull him away Ryuutaro.]
no subject
He smiles again, first at Gokudera then at the clerk, with a sweetness that could lead small animals to a sticky doom. ]
It's supposed to mean that we're going to get a good night's rest.
After all, a quiet atmosphere is just what we'd expect from a respectable place as this one fortune led us to... Thank you very much for your services.
[ He takes the fan away from Gokudera, finally, and opens it, still smiling. ]
Let's go.
no subject
Yeah, yeah, whatever. Get a friggin' tan while you're at it. I've seen cadavers with a better complexion than you.
[And he'll just be grumbling the whole way to their room about how much he does not like that guy.]
no subject
For the same reason he doesn't feel like picking a fight with Gokudera now either - but he rolls his eyes at him anyway. They know each other enough to know they disapprove of a lot about another - there's no need to hide that.
More to worry about than their state of relationship is the state of the motel. The light bulb in the hallway of their room is literally hanging from only one naked power cable. ]
At this rate, the atmosphere won't only be quiet, it will also be quite dark....

[Gokudera heads to the room number that's on the key, and opens the door. He flicks on the light and looks around the room. It looked as though it was once a very nice room, but lack of care and age had deteriorated it into an eerily dusty ghost of it's former self-
which of course, was the first thing Gokudera noticed, despite their only being one bed. He'd bitch about that a little later.]
Jeeze, this place looks like a haunted version of the friggin' Bates Motel. Ten bucks says that guys got his dead grandma in the basement or some shit like that.
no subject
My home doesn't even have a ceiling light to leave on, remember? I do not have a problem with darkness. I am just convinced that if a place already has lights, they should as well be working - or else it'll give off a horrible impression.
Speaking of horrible impressions-
[ He steps into the room and wrinkles his nose. ]
this is not getting any better. If we encounter any spirits here, they surely will not be friendly. Who could be, in such conditions.
[ Seriously, this is such a gross room. He's kind of insulted they charge money for it - but then again they didn't.... really pay. So it's fine. He is starting to see more and more of the benefits in Gokudera's lifestyle and that's a problem. ]
no subject
Wait, you think there actually might be spirits here or something?
['Cause a fortune teller would know that shit, wouldn't he?]
WELL THE DS GAME MAKES HIM A MONSTER HUNTER / EXORCIST SOMEHOW SO
I do not think it is as likely as finding spirits at more... spiritual places like temples, but it is not impossible either.
If so I doubt it would be alike to any horror movies though.
[ Ah yes, this is the kind of thing he can lure Gokudera in with, he should make note to use that some day. It's not like he considers finding spirits impossible either - but he doesn't think it would be too spectacular. As if spirits had nothing better to do than spook random humans. ]
LMAO! OMG seriously? DOES HE FIGHT DEMONS!?
[And Gokudera looks around the room with a new found interest and appreciation.]
Hey do you think someone died here or something?! I mean that guy out front was totally creepy, maybe he's some sort of psycho creeper or something!
HE CLAIMS TO; AT LEAST
[ Or the corpse for that matter. What do you take him for, a necromancer? ]
You get awfully excited about horrible things.
LMAO ARE YOU GOING TO CLAIM TO BE A NECROMANCER TOO NOW RYUUTARO!?
poutscowl about it and get defensive.]Tch! I do not! It would just be a really important scientific breakthrough if we did discover one!
IF IT GETS HIM WHAT HE WANTS?! no jk necromancy is too dirty tbh
[ Ryuutaro chuckles and opens his fan. ]
And if we found a ghost searching vengeance, I doubt it would like you to perform any science. Real spirituality and science do not go so well together.
[ Fake spirituality is all science though, but it's not like he's going to speak about the many ways to fake being capable of magic. That's a business secret, you see? And a lot of hard work.
He looks over to the bed, contemplating to sit down on it, but then decides he doesn't trust it yet and sits down on a wooden unstable chair instead. ]
Ryuutaro you are hilarious
Bed's his now. It's officially claimed. He has left his mark on it.]
Tch! I'd only need proof that it exists! I could take a picture of it on my phone or something! Then maybe I could try and get it to help the Vongola!
no subject
[ Ryuutaro closes his fan thoughtfully, resisting to complain about Gokudera's attitude once more. ]
If the spirit could leave this foresaken please, I am sure it would - so if you find it now, then it likely can not leave and be of no use to the Vongola either.
no subject
[He let's out a 'hmph!' as he folds his arms behind his head. Clearly that was such an obvious answer! What kind of fortune teller are to not know that much!?
Of course he was so preoccupied with his
stupiditysupernatural logic he didn't really notice the sounds of scraping and dragging coming from the room above.]no subject
[ At this rate, he's almost wishing they'd encounter a cost, solely to see how an interaction between it and Gokudera would play out.
He leans back a bit, discovers his chair is unstable and almost falls over before he catches himself. What a wonderful place. It effectively distracts him from listening for a few seconds but when he gets off the treacherous chair he finally just stops mid-movement, silently, listening. ]
