sick day meme
href="http://bakerstreet.dreamwidth.org/2721194.html">Sick Day Meme.
THE LIST:
1// COLD
It's just a boring old sinus infection and you probably could go in, but you're not because bed is just too nice.
2// FLU
You feel like you're dying and everything aches, but it's not quite serious enough to arrange your own funeral yet.
3// MAN FLU
Doesn't anyone understand how sick and miserable you are?! You can't function! The world is ending! You need cuddles, and hugs, and you can't do ANYTHING by yourself!
4// STOMACH BUG
Uh oh, this is going to get messy...
5// FOOD POISONING
But that meal was sooooooo good. The best you ever had! Why is it betraying you so badly?! Never eating ever again.
6// CONCUSSION
You've been hit in the head and now it feels like it's going to explode. Being horizontal is the best option, and not even in a good way.
7// MONO
Everything hurts, you feel sick, you don't want to move, you don't want to eat, but you're in it for the long haul. Company and maybe some cuddles with chicken soup might be nice.
8// CHICKEN POX OR MEASLES
SPOTS! Spots everywhere! Yes, even there! You look hideous and it itches so damn much. Don't scratch, don't scratch... oh screw it!
9// LARYNGITIS
Your throat hurts so bad and now you can't talk. How are you going to communicate, maybe you need a little bell? Is it bad form to text message someone sitting right in front of you? Who cares, you want chicken soup.
10// HANGOVER
It's still sick, right?
11// BACK PAIN
You don't know what you have done, but you woke up barely able to move. You probably shouldn't have done what you did last night... and you should probably rest it.
12// INCAPACITATING INJURY
You got hurt, you can move much, and you're stuck in bed. Is it a broken bone? Torn groin muscle? Cracked ribs? Whatever it is, the world clearly hates you.
13// POST ROUTINE SURGERY
It was a simple procedure and now you're back home. The only catch is, you can't be alone for 48 hours in case of complications, with the added bonus of it hurts like a bitch.
14// POST MAJOR SURGERY
You're stuck in hospital for a few days and have a gaping surgial wound. There aren't even any hot nurses. Now what?
15// LONG TERM ILLNESS
You've just been diagnosed with a longer-term illness (of your choice). You're feeling poorly and don't want to be alone.
16// ANYTHING GOES
Something not listed here, have a wildcard of your choice! Anything that might lead to a timely sick day.

SICK DAY MEME
( REQUESTED RE-POST)
( REQUESTED RE-POST)
There's not denying it, you're feeling crap. School, work, a date, tea with nana, mowing the lawns, doing your laundry, that important meeting... you can't make it. You want to stay in bed and maybe you just need a little TLC in the process. What is YOUR reason for that ever-fateful call in sick that every boss just loves to hate? RULES: - Leave a comment with your character's name, fandom, and any preferences you have. - When replying, RNG for a number between 1 and 16. - The number corresponds to the scenario that you will play out in any way you feel the urge. - The poster is the sick person, the tagger is the one taking care of them/keeping them company. - Go from there! |

Assuming no one would be around to bother him, he let out a hacking cough followed by a grunt of discomfort as he rubbed his neck. His throat hurt, his head hurt, his everything else was actually pretty sore as well, and he was just tired overall.]
no subject
There was no sound as she moved, no sound that most would hear at least. Illidan was not most though and she knew he would know of her presence. As she approached she heard his cough and a surge of concern jolted through her. It was unexpected and in many ways it was frustrating. This...this betrayer should not evoke such sympathy in her and yet he did. Even still, even after all that had come there was some small seed of sympathy and care for what was.
It was the problem of all her people. So many spent so long living in the past and perhaps she was no exception. ]
Illidan? [ There was hesitation in her voice and a very small hint of concern that she tried to mask with coldness. ] You do not sound well.
no subject
Tyrande?
[He winced slightly at the sound of his own voice, it was soft and hoarse, and easy to hear that his nose was very stuffed up. He quickly scrambled to his feet, and focused his vision to see her better, in hopes of trying to at least appear more energetic than he was actually feeling. Before he spoke again he cleared his throat, and there was a telltale sniffle in a vain attempt to clear his nose. He did manage to at least speak more clearly.]
What are you doing here?
no subject
I saw you from a distance. [ Her tone was controlled and devoid of the worry that was swirling inside of her. This man had destroyed so much why did she care? How could she care at all? And yet there was a part of her that found it impossible not to. In a way it was frustrating and also...confusing. Though she found herself wondering if Malfurion would not feel the same. ]
What are you doing up here? [ She paused for a second and Dori'thur came to land on her shoulder. ] You do not look well.
no subject
[He saw her reach for him, and he had almost just started to lean in, hoping to feel her touch just once more. But she receded, and he straightened himself, and turned to 'look' over the landscape before the building.]
Since when did you begin to how concern for demons? I'm sure my brother would nary approve.
no subject
Malfurion is not here to show his approval or his disapproval. [ Her tone was haughty and indignant. His approval was not something she needed regardless. She did what she wanted nothing more and nothing less. ] It should not be surprising for me to show confusion over your appearance, I would not have thought it possible for you to fall ill. [ Confusion. Not concern. ]
no subject
I am not ill. It's midday, I am simply tired.
[Well he honestly had little idea what time of day it was. It was worse int he cooler months when it grew difficult to differentiate day and night from the temperature. So it could be midday, it could be late afternoon, or it could even be a particularly lively night. He was hoping to guess at least the 'day' part right. It was a 50/50 chance.]
no subject
You do not look merely tired. [ Her voice stayed stiff as she watched him carefully. ] We should take you to someone who can examine you. It is not natural...[ she trailed off. None of what he had become as natural but that was not the point here. ] for demons to fall ill.
no subject
[He cast a glance at her over shoulder when she tarted the "It's not natural" line, just waiting for her to amend the statement. When she does as he predicted, he scoffs and looks forward again. He was going to have to stand up to prove a point. And he had just sat back down. Ugh, the things he does for you Tyrande.]
My blood still bleeds as red as yours, Tyrande. To my knowledge, elves do still fall ill. [Just to make it a point that he was not a fully fledged demon, and it was elven blood that pumped through his veins despite her- and most others- assumptions of otherwise. With a grunt he got to his feet, staggering a bit as he did so. But he stood up. That'll show her. He is the picture of fine.] And I am not having anyone pester me about some trivial-
[And he falls into a brief sneezing fit, where it shook his entire form. He dropped lightly afterward and made a noise of discomfort before managing to continue. His last word had far less conviction behind it than he would have liked.]
...ailment.
no subject
If you are attempting to prove a point you are not doing well. [ Most would have chosen to keep that though to themselves but Tyrande felt the need to point that out to him. It was clear enough that he was trying to prove he was well to her, it was what he always did: he tried to hard to prove things. ]
Ah. Yes you are most certainly well. You have done well in convincing me of that.
no subject
[He turned his back to her and crouched down as he spread his wings, because he didn't to take having his personal brooding time interrupted with all this harsh judgement.
And he took off, shooting straight up towards the roof of the next building, but something went wrong as he neared it. His already limited vision went dark, and he couldn't tell which direction he was going. He beat his wings to try and keep aloft, but his chest felt tight making such an effort hard to breath through.
next thing he knew he had crashed into a pile of wooden crates. Once the dust settled, the only thing that could be seen were a pair of hooves sticking out from the splintered mess. Which looked almost comically as though someone had tried to throw out a horse. Illidan didn't move though, he was in too much of a daze wondering what just happened, and how he was suddenly on the ground.]
no subject
In another time, another lifetime it felt, she would have laughed at this. In truth, right now, a small hidden part of her almost did laugh. Bitterness and coldness suppressed that part though and kept it locked up. ]
Dori'thur. [ The owl flew down, circled around Illidan and then returned to Tyrande as she moved off the building and to where Illidan had so unceremoniously crashed. ] I see. He is very lucky. [ It was a comment to the spirit companion and no others. When she reached him she knelt down. ]
I will never understand why you must do these things. [ And she never had. In thousands of years she had never fully come to understand his strange reasonings. ] Let me help you. [ Why did she wish to help him? She should leave him now, leave him to his suffering, to pay for all he had done and yet...no. She could not do that. ]
no subject
I heard that.
[he let himself lay there sprawled amidst the rubble while he caught his breath. He had thought the overall ache earlier had been bad. He was wrong. However when Tyrande came down to him and, once again, look down on him and disregarded the efforts he made to be strong for her, it was enough for him to push past his exhaustion and force himself upright. He managed to get into a sitting position, and momentarily considered giving her a retort. But it would be pointless, her heart belonged to his brother, and no matter how much he tried to explain his choices to her, it would never change things.
So he just sat there, not responding to her. Not refusing her offer, but too
buttmadproud to accept it.]no subject
She sighed and offered him a hand. ]
You need assistance.
no subject
He tentatively reached out for her hand, taking her soft hand in his rough clawed one, with surprising gentleness. He'd let her guide him where ever, but there was no guarantee he'd cooperate with anyone else.]
no subject
Do you wish to find some sort of healer or should we return to....the place you are staying? [ Where was he staying? ]
no subject
I stay near here. [He gave a nod in the direction it was in.] You will know it when you see it.
[It was the only place that had architecture that resembled the old Night Elven structures before the Sundering. A bit skewed, as ten thousand years of blindness and imprisonment had warped the memories which the structure was built upon. Colors were occasionally off, or things seemed to have no color, and things were generally a bit larger to accommodate his size. Ultimately there was very little in the abode. A few places to sit, a place to bathe and get water, a place where he was presumably supposed to sleep. However the bed remained pretty untouched, he usually just slept sitting up.]
no subject
I can see why you would choose such a place. [ There was sadness in her voice that she did not bother to hide in the least. That he would cling to the memories of their home was not....perhaps it was not something she wanted to see. It was easier to simply see him as the Betrayer rather than the night elf he had been. ]
It is not home but there is a closeness. [ Not that it was home to him any longer. He was an outcast and a part of her ached at that knowledge. They had spent so long as allies and then...no. Now was not the time to dwell on that. If she spent too long thinking she might default to one side or the other. The easier side was the side of anger. He had cost them so much and she had cost her people much because of him. There was never a moment she did not acknowledge that she had been the one to set him free once. It had been her choice that had lead to further to destruction.
No, this was not the time for those thoughts. ]
You should take a seat at least. Do you have any idea as to where this illness might have come from?
no subject
It is as close as I will ever get.
[It was all he had known for hi entire life before his imprisonment, then he just wound up being more or less nomadic for the sake of fleeing both Kil'Jaedan and Maiev. The nostalgia of this place was likely why he did not visit it, beyond when he absolutely needed too. Too many memories of a time and place he could never return to. Having Tyrande here only brought that point home further.]
I simply woke up this way. It has only grown worse as the day wears on.
no subject
That was of your own doing. [ Her voice was harsh and she moved subjects quickly or as quickly as she could manage. ]
What are your symptoms?
no subject
[Illidan's voice came out in an exasperated tired drawl, rather than his usual argumentative self. He leaned against the wall next to him, letting his wings droop to the ground. It wasn't exactly the most comfortable way to have them, but he was too tired to keep them upright. His broad chest heaved a he struggled to breath through discomfort and congestion, and his forehead was coated in a light sweat.]
My symptoms are as you see before you.
[His way of saying 'more than I am letting on and I on't want to talk about it']
no subject
We did not ask you to become this. [ There was tenseness in her voice that she did not bother to hide. Still she tried to keep from becoming too agitated. Sometimes it was difficult to do when she spoke with him. He seemed to bring the worst in her out. ]
They are not. You are hiding things.
no subject
[He didn't meet her gaze, instead just staring vacantly ahead of him. It was a rare show of submission. He was too tired to argue, but he was also tired of being treated like a villain, despite how much he had served his people.]
I am ill, Tyrande. I am weak and feeble. I cannot focus, which leaves my vision clouded. I can barely speak or breath and I am both warm and cold at once.
[He did manage to bring forth some of his usual energy listing off his symptoms with an agitated hiss, however the effort that took left him winded. He loathed being weak. Oh how he loathed it. Being forced to ADMIT he was weak just made him even more frustrated at his condition.]
YOU SAW NOTHING
It is surprising to hear you admit those things. [ Particularly the weak. He must truly be feeling terrible to admit it. ] I do not know what ails you but there must be something we can do. Have you eaten?
Still in my inbox BOOYA. NOT DELETING IT.
[He let out a sigh, and the green glow beneath his blindfold dimmed. It did not vanish as he was not capable of fully closing his eyes any longer, but even just this served to mute some of the chaotic mass of color that assaulted his sense, and proved to be contributing to an oncoming headache.]
I had not been intending to. [His implication that she had badgered him into doing it.] I haven't, I am not hungry.
wow you are so rude why are you my friend?
Does this mean I'm demoted to mouthblister again?
you've always stayed there
